Stackpole's ESD suppressor is designed to protect high speed data line communication ports, like HDMI and USB 2.0 or higher, from ESD strikes. The ESD Series offers capacitance as low as 0.01 pF which preserves signal integrity at data rates near 5 GHz. AEC-Q200 requires the resistors to have an operating temperature range of -55°C to +150°C and survive a wide range of electrical and mechanical stress tests. These tests include exposure to high temperatures, temperature cycling, high temperature operational life, biased humidity, ESD, board flex, and terminal strength. RNCF Series Precision Thin Film Chip Resistor

Stackpole recently expanded the resistance value ranges of the 0201 chip size of the RNCF Series of precision thin film chip resistors. Resistance values from 49.9 ohm to 33K ohm are now available in tolerances as tight as 0.5% and TCR as low as 25 ppm. With the proliferation of consumer electronics and the desire for smaller, lighter and more portable devices, the 0201 chip size is often necessary. Fusible Wirewounds Offer Pulse Handling and Failsafe Operation

The WWF series from Stackpole is a fusible wirewound technology. Wirewounds typically handle at least 5 times the pulse energy of similar film resistors. Although this attribute is ideal for surge handling, it creates a risk under continuous overloads where the part may continue to generate heat until igniting itself, the PCB, or surrounding components and connectors on fire. Stackpole’s proprietary fusing design and materials creates a fast and safe failure event under continuous overload preventing such damage.

0612 Size Current Sense Resistors Now Available in 2 Milliohm Resistance Value

Stackpole has expanded the value range of its CSRF0612 surface mount resistors. The 0612 size features terminations on the long side of the part for improved power handling, heat dissipation, and lower resistance values. The CSRF0612 handles 1.5 watts versus the equivalently sized 1206 chip that is only rated at 1 watt. This lower resistance capability combined with the outstanding low TCR allows engineers to downsize designs using larger chip sizes without sacrificing power handling.
